Well the past two months have almost brought LMHawaii to a close. First off our host canned us one month shy of our one year of service. We were not notified of any kind that our renewal was comong and I checked our records and we had at least one month before the end of the one year. My guess is that we had such cheap hosting that our host decided to can anyone who had cheap hosting.

Well this meant that we needed to find new hosting and it was felt that maybe it was time to close the site. Well as you can see we decided to continue for a while longer. We have made a few changes. Change number one is that we have stopped making text based tutorials and have gone to video tutorials. Change number two is that these tutorials are no longer free. Change number three is we are looking at membership based tutorial access.

Finding the right tools to use is one of the hardest thing to accomplish. Questions to consider include "How much money do I want to spend?", "Should I use tools most used by web developers?", "Develop using Flash, XHTML, XML, HTML, JSP, ...?" and the list goes on.

Well, we will explore some of these questions. In no means is our list of recommended tools the absolute or best. The tools we recommend are tools which we have tried and have found to work for us. These tools may not work for you therefore we highly recommend that you take advantage of "Tryout" software and test for yourself before buying.

Resource and Tutorials

Are you new to web development and design? Well, learning on your own can be a very difficult thing to do. Believe or not there are sites on the internet which provide people with resources to learn the basics. In some cases they cost money and there are others which offer free resources.

The problem or question is which sites are good and which site is bad. The answer to that question is we really can't say. We have gone to some sites and have found so usefull and other which weren't. Want to know sites which we have found usefull. Learn more.

How Did We Start?

Well, LMHawaii.com began as a simple homepage back in the mid 90's. Through the years we have played around with lots of web tools. Some have been great but now are discontinued. Others are still available but we no longer use them. Still yet others which are sti.ll available we do still use.

A great web designer (code name - Scarecrow) once told me ... "get all the tool that you can afford." This has turned out to be the best advise we ever got. We have tried many different editors and have purchase many of them. Learn more
